How to Make the Challenge of Dieting Feel Easier

Trust me, at Dunnebells we LOVE to eat and we love to eat a lot. What we often see people doing as their first change to lose weight is making a SLIGHT change to their portion sizes. It can be challenging, but when you understand more about the food you are consuming, what a serving size is, and how much you should be eating for your goals, the game changes. One of the small changes we recommend making right away is simply adding a few more vegetables to your plate! This way, your body is going to get more of what it needs in terms of vitamins, minerals and nutrients without you feeling like you are missing out by taking something away.

Drink plenty of water

Water is an important part of a healthy diet. It keeps the body hydrated and helps to flush out waste materials. Having enough water can also help to promote weight loss. Water is important for people of all ages. It’s probably obvious that you need at least eight glasses a day, but surprisingly, not many people do this. While things such as soda and juice are great, these should only be consumed in moderation. Start by drinking a large glass of water each day, after a while you’ll love the positive benefits you experience.

Cut down on saturated fat

The good news is that scientific evidence suggests that cutting down on saturated fat to make the diet easier is a safe and reasonable way to improve your health. However, it's important to remember that saturated fat is only one of several dietary factors contributing to heart disease development. Saturated fats are found in foods such as meat, cheese, ice cream, and butter. They raise the levels of bad cholesterol in the body. Why not try healthier meals such as goulash recipe with sausage and beef, this isn’t filled with a lot of saturated fat, and it’ll help you reach your protein goals for the day. Stock your kitchen with healthy-convenient foods

One major reason people snack on chips, cookies, and other not-so-nutrient-dense items is that it’s convenient. The same can be said for microwaveable frozen meals; they’re quick and easy. Instead, consider making some healthy options ahead of time and stock your kitchen!

Having healthy, convenient foods available in your kitchen will make it much easier to eat healthier. Whether you are making a meal or just looking for a snack, you'll find plenty of options to choose from. For example, you may be surprised to learn that smoothies, soups, and salads don’t take long to make. Even something like an Instant Pot just makes meals quicker.

Avoid mindless eating

Mindless eating can be an unhealthy habit that you may not even realize you are doing. It can lead to excessive weight gain and obesity. However, it can be avoided by making some changes. Think about when you eat, is it while watching something? This is usually when it happens. Just eating slowly for twenty minutes without entertainment could help send the signal to your brain that it is full, satisfied and doesn’t need to eat anymore.
