Spending our wedding night at The Fairmont Palliser || Dunnebells

When Kelsi and I (fitness and nutrition coach)  travel, we prefer to do things our way. What does that mean exactly? We usually avoid chain hotels and resort and book a small cottage, villa or a glamping campsite. With that being said, this was our wedding night and we wanted to do something extra special.

Our priority was to make sure every detail of our special day was memorable, and that included where we would sleep and wake up as a newlywed couple. We decided to book a stay at The Fairmont Palliser. We have stayed at Fairmont hotels before and we know this would be a great choice to create an unforgettable experience.

GETTING TO THE FAIRMONT PALLISER

Just a short Uber drive from our reception venue The Studio Space, the Fairmont Palliser is a historic landmark hotel in downtown Calgary.

Once we made our way to our room, I was instantly drawn to the large open spaces and luxurious finishes that our room contained. The luxe king-sized bed, modern furniture and beautiful decor made us feel instantly at home. Awaiting us was a beautiful fruit platter and fresh juice. This was exactly what we needed after what had been a long day.

THE FAIRMONT PALLISER ROOM

Following a luxurious night’s sleep, Kelsi and I as a fitness and nutrition coach fuelled up for the day at the Gold Floor’s private lounge. Before us was a mouthwatering selection of pastries, sliced tropical fruit, toast, bagels, salad, hot eggs Benedict, gourmet cheese, muffins, quiche, coffee, tea and an assortment of juices. Needless to say, we each loaded up on seconds!

Our bellies full, we headed into the room to do what we do best. RELAX and watch HGTV. Isn’ that what every newly married couple wants to do the day after their wedding? At The Fairmont Palliser, no attention to detail is too small and no guest is overlooked. I could not have imagined a more stunning place to spend our wedding night.

IN-ROOM DINING

For once, we thought ahead and knew we would be exhausted and checking out the morning after our wedding would have meant everything felt rushed and we didn’t get to enjoy the room as much as we wanted, so we booked an additional night. Instead of heading to the Fairmont Gold Lounge for breakfast the following day, we had an in-room dining experience provided by the hotel and it was incredible! The photos below give you an idea of how delicious the food was and how magical our time at the Fairmont Palliser was.

All of the rooms at The Fairmont Palliser are newly renovated. The rooms had the latest amenities so you don’t have to worry about a thing except for relaxing and enjoying yourself. We were seeking the ultimate in service and luxury so we finished ou stay with a bottle of this delicious champagne and headed into married life in style.
